City of Charlottesville:

The City of Charlottesville is serving as the project administrator overseeing the improvements being designed and constructed as part of the renovations on the Downtown Mall.  The City staff is working to insure that all improvements are communicated and coordinated with the mall residents, businesses, and users.

MMM Design Group, Inc.:

The City competitively selected MMM Design Group to work with the community and key stakeholders such as business owners, residents and City officials in both designing the upgrade and in accomplishing a successful implementation schedule.
MMM Design Group is a full-service architecture, engineering, and planning firm headquartered in Norfolk, Virginia with an office in Charlottesville, Virginia. With our multidiscipline team of experienced architects, planners, civil, structural, electrical, and mechanical engineers, as well as interior designers, MMM is committed to providing excellent service.

The Clay Christensen Group:

The Clay Christensen Group LLC (CCG) is responsible for facilitating constructive public participation and communication.  The goal is to have the Downtown Mall stakeholders become participants in the process of designing, constructing and phasing the improvements, versus feeling like the process is being imposed upon them.

Barton Malow Company:

Barton Malow Company was selected by the City of Charlottesville to serve as Construction Manager for the project. As such, the firm will work closely with both the City and MMM Design Group, Inc. during preconstruction to ensure that the project is successful from both a budgetary and scheduling standpoint, and that logistical goals and expectations can easily be met.  Barton Malow will also act as the Construction Manager Agent during the construction phase.

Barton Malow established its regional office in Charlottesville, Virginia, in 1987 to better serve a growing list of repeat clients in the area.  Since then, their personnel have successfully managed construction of some of the most complex and time critical projects completed in the area.

Van Yahres Tree Company:

Van Yahres Tree Company is responsible for providing tree condition surveys for all trees located on the downtown mall.  This tree condition survey reflects the current condition of the trees and recommendations for a comprehensive tree replacement program going forward.

Trees are a treasured part of our community and a natural legacy for future generations. Van Yahres Tree Company is committed to protecting the health and beauty of trees to ensure that they will be a part of our community history and landscape for years to come. Van Yahres Tree Company’s history dates back to 1919 when the founder, George Van Yahres, was hired to help restore the grounds at Monticello.  Van Yahres is committed to providing services and contributions to the community that will continue to make the Downtown Mall and Central Virginia a special place to live, work and raise our families.

Thomas B. Lincoln, Land Surveyor, Inc.:

Thomas B. Lincoln, Land Surveyor is providing services related to the topographic and utility survey of the Downtown Mall.  Throughout this process survey crews will be visible on the Downtown Mall performing the necessary surveys for the design of improvements to progress.


 

Rummel, Klepper & Kahl, LLP:

Rummel, Klepper & Kahl is taking on the challenge of creating and maintaining the project web site that will provide an information link for the progress of the project between the project team, stakeholders, and community.
