A sense of the C'ville spirit could be felt today as local business owner Stu Rifkin (Owner of the Nook Restaurant located 415 E Main St.) and his staff provided lunch for the construction crews working on the Mall. About 50 workers were present to enjoy a hot lunch. The lunch was hosted at Enoteca. Crew members had their choice of meatloaf, pork chops, country fried steak or catfish, all masterfully cooked at The Nook. Barton Malow, the The City's Construction Manager for the project, organized this appreciation lunch with the Nook Restaurant and Enoteca. The meal, which the Project's Management Team plans to hold on a monthly basis, is an opportunities to have a team lunch to keep morale high among the crews who are working 6 days a week on these trying winter days. In addition, it gives the Management Team an opportunity to keep the entire Project "family" up-to-date with the latest updates and progress reports on the overall project.
The crews are working hard to provide the City of Charlottesville with a Revitalized Downtown Pedestrian Mall. The Project Schedule is "challenging" (to say the least!), and these hard working folks are meeting and exceeding every challenge they encounter!
A heartfelt thanks to everybody at The Nook and Enoteca who made this lunch possible!
