Construction Weather: Winter Mess Mix: 21oF - 40oF
Despite more messy winter weather, construction on the Mall continues. Design Electric crews can be seen in several places on the Mall continuing to work on the new electrical backbone for the Mall. Existing lights are being removed, and will be replaced with new, high efficiency lights.
Over the weekend, crews from Barton Malow (the City's Construction Manager) moved the construction fencing away from Central Place, except for the cluster of trees which will remain blocked until the new tree grate structures are put into place.
Masons are still able to work amidst the gloomy weather. Because the pavers are set in a sand setting bed, weather plays a much smaller role in the masonry work.
At the West End Plaza, the exposed 12" diameter water main has been fitted with a tapping sleeve and valve to supply water to the new fire hydrant.
