Crews from Parham have begun installation of tree protection fences around the existing trees. After the original tree grates are removed, the fences are installed to prevent damage to the trees from construction activities.
Over the weekend, crews began the process of removing the oak stump in front of Virginia National Bank. This stump will be replaced with a new 4" caliper willow oak.
Crews also began the process of removing the diseased and distressed maples in front of the Landmark Hotel construction site. These trees will be replaced with a cultivar of maple which is more appropriate for this locale.
Crews from Parham have begun placing concrete slab repairs in the areas where the slab was opened to allow access to utilities. The patches have rebar doweled into the original slab to insure structural integrity of the slab and patch. Concrete is being provided by The H.T. Ferron Company, a local concrete and hardscape company.
