Construction Weather: Overcast, 39o-49oF
Weather couldn’t have been more cooperative as demolition crews started to remove the 30+ year old brick pavers to reveal the concrete slab which hasn’t seen daylight for over 3 decades. Initial inspections show that the underlying slab is in good condition. After removing the brickpavers around the trees, it is apparent that the tree well grates are in better condition than expected, and upon inspection by the engineers the tree grates may be determined to be re-usable, resulting in a savings of time and money to the City. Demolition work is being undertaken by Parham Construction Company, Inc., a Charlottesville based contractor. Parham will be responsible for the removal and stockpiling of all of the brick pavers, as well as all other general demolition work.
