Whether strolling under the lush, leafy tree canopy, enjoying diverse outdoor dining or browsing your favorite specialty shop, the Charlottesville Downtown Pedestrian Mall is a core of the community. With its urban park feel, the 30-year old Mall is undertaking a multi-phased structural and cosmetic update, minimizing structural and safety concerns, updating materials and extending the life of the mall.
The Downtown Pedestrian Mall is open for business! The primary goal of the project is to achieve results in the least disruptive way to businesses, residents, shoppers and entertainment venues.
The City has competitively selected MMM Design Group to work with the community and key stakeholders in both designing the upgrade and accomplishing a successful implementation schedule.

Construction Marketing Plan: The MMM Design Group Team will convene Downtown Businesses for a Construction Marketing Planning Session on August 6th at City Space from 3:00- 6:00 p.m. This is a great opportunity to partner in creating effective messages to keep the word out that “The Mall is Open for Business” during construction.
